A scoping application (08/02652/SCO) has been sent to NWDC Planning by a developer. This is not (yet) a full planning application, just a request to the Planning department for an opinion as to the scope of the Environmental Impact Assessment that would be required in respect of a proposal for Mixed Use Development of the site.
The extent of the area affected is shown on this map attached to the application.

If you are a local resident and would be affected by development on Bird's Marsh, please make your opinion known to NWDC by commenting on the application by clicking here
NWDC Local Plan - Check the sections for NE12 Woodland and NE3 Local Rural Buffers which are the relevant parts that apply to Bird's Marsh wood and the surrounding area.
